What is Maryland’s BOOST Program? Apply today!

Established in 2016, Maryland’s Broadening Options and Opportunities for Students Today (BOOST) Program provides vouchers to low-income students to attend eligible nonpublic schools. Scholarships are provided to families eligible for the free/reduced-price lunch program, and are given based on household income, with lower incomes served first. BOOST is the nation’s 26th voucher program and throughout the state, and 10% of families with children throughout Maryland are income-eligible. During the 2018-2019 fiscal school year, the State of Maryland allocated $7.6 million for BOOST scholarships. There were 3,410 participating students during that school year as well.
